Here's a fun little simulation to get pretty randomized clusters of spheres to be used as backdrop for an image. Love that sphere texture from the GSG texture kit.
Skullcandy Gaming
I've been really lucky to have had the chance to do renders for the new SLYR and PLYR gaming headphones by Skullcandy. It's been a great learning experience; and I can finally post a few of the images now that they've been announced. Here are some renders that ended up on packaging and some teaser shots.
Flower Render
We needed an image of an almond flower for a project, but couldn't find one locally to shoot so tried rendering it. I think it looks pretty decent; it would be used pretty small on packaging and think it'll pass for the real thing.
Ingredients Shoot
Doing a shoot of ingredient photos all this week.
Pocketpack Illustration
Here's a recent top-view render for the listerine pocketpacks.
Weatherproof TV
Here's a recent shot for a weatherproof tv.Splash made in realflow and some photoshopping.
Digital.Spring.Cleaning - Ice Ice Bengay
Time for another round of digital spring cleaning as the 3TB drive is getting full; getting rid of the really unnecassary raw files and temporary psd files.Saw this photo which was part of a Bengay photo shoot; looks kinda great for a straight shot.
Recent Renders
This has been the month of oral care product renders... here are two samples
Listerine Render
Here's one from this morning, a render of the existing dispenser for listerine breath strips for a packaging redesign. It's slightly simplified around the flap, but that's probably better as it'll likely be printed really small. Can't really make it much more precise as I'm not an industrial designer ;-)
I'll need to do couple more renders for Listerine next week, all involving liquids; so I have hours of frustration with Realflow to look forward to...
Getting better at modeling
This is a 3d model for an existing compeed blister plaster case. Needed a model for an upcoming presentation to try out different graphics; and of course the engineering files could not be located, so I had to model it from scratch. This was a tricky one with the backercard locking inside the case, but I'm really happy with the way it came out.
and here are two bottle pumps I had to model recently for another project.
Still have a ton to learn, and I've only scratched the surface when it comes to the animation capability in Cinema4D. It's been quite a fun process so far.
Short NY trip
Portfolio down for Remodeling
I took down the portfolio section of the website for redesign.Plan on making a simpler and non-flash site that's easier to update.
